Trying to make forms for website...
ok so I'm trying to make these forms for my website. I have already set them up (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/thugedout/join.htm) but when I click submit, i get an error message that says "Resource not allowed" What the heck does that mean?

Feel free to try to fill out the forms yourself and see what the error is...just make somethin up for the fields and then click submit.

WHat do you have processing the form, CGI, ASP, PHP?? A form needs a language behind it to do the process the form contents.

Sorry thugedout, but comcast doesn't provide anything other than plain, vanilla web space. You need CGI, ASP, or PHP support from their end to make that work.

There are services out there that can handle this for you; freedback.com is one of them. I used their code, played around with it a bit to suit my needs. Only problem is it does open an ad window....but just one....

Most of the free hosting service providers give you an option of having a user feedback form. You only have to customise it. I don't know about comcast. But used http://www.freeservers.com once. Its free and gives most basic things ready.

sorry about double posting...anywayz, I plan to try out this software called Abyss Web Server For Windows - It sounds really cool and I plan on setting it up soon..anyways..has anyone ever used this before, if so, how does it work and how good is it? Thanx.

Not gonna help you unless you are hosting your own web server in your home. Comcast won't let you put it on their servers.

yea thats what I'm gonna do...my friend told me that Abyss web server was a way to host your own web server...only drawback is computer has to be on 24/7..but its ok.

Or you can sign up at freeservers, make a form there. Link to that page from your site.
