At a real quick, I noticed you did not have the </body> tag at the end of the code.

<img src="heading.gif" width="600" height="100" alt="-Our Net-">
</body>
</html>

I also assume the heading.gif is on your server?

I put your code into my html editor, loaded it, and got a box with a red x as I expected to get given I do not have the complete path to uot image. So the code seems to be on track which leads me to ask if you have doubled checked the name and spelling of your GIF. Are you sure you didn't load something like "haeding.gif" instead of "heading.gif" ? I find when I'm loading images I get .gif when it should be .png, etc. You get my drift. Make sure the names are exact.

I have a thought, could you give me the url for the image and I'll see if I can get it to load?

...and make sure that the .gif is in the same folder with the .html file or change the path of the gif in your code.

Well, i made a page and it loaded. Then i loaded the image to a tripod.com account and created a page for it. http://k-pages33.tripod.com/ournet.html

It seems to work fine.

I'm at a loss as to how Kevin got your image. You should see it displayed if you go to this url, if all is correct: http://www.ournet.buildtolearn.com/heading.gif But I can't get the heading to load. Now I'm really curious.

Do you have any pages on your server yet? If so, what is the url?

Ah Ha. I was at a complete loss as to how you can get it and I couldn't. So now cnelson, how did you load the picture to your server...with a ftp client? If so, can you check to see that it is there, the name is correct, and the extension is correct. I noticed you said it was a .gif file, but the one on kevin's server is a .png file. I've d/l it so I can post it too. But you should be able to put the url in your browser for your homepage, then a /heading.gif, hit enter and see the picture in your browser. Like this GT image I have on my server: http://home.comcast.net/~b.cherry/gtbuzzlogo.gif
