Chat on my site...
I have been searching and searching and gotten no where. Basicaly, what I want is a chat room on my own web site. And I want a bot in this room. I want to be able to train and name and control this bot on my own. I want it to respond to commands from ops and reply when spoken to. I want this to be on my own page in my site, not on irc. And I want it all to be free. Is this possibe? And how do I do this?

IRC has good support for bots, ops, etc. You could setup an IRC chat and have a script within your page that connects to it, so the user will still be on your website.

That's a good point, you can have the chat window via the browser connect to an IRC server and the channel. There are 3rd party scripts, I know you said not IRC but its the same affect. THen you just have to program the bot.

And there is Eggdrop for that

How to setup IRC depends on your server...on linux you could use ircd, and there are quite a few Windows IRC servers out there as well.

Sounds pretty complicated. Can you tell me in simple terms or direct me to some place on web from where I can pick it up easily?
