animated gif & flash no longer work
Hi
I have a site that had an animated gif on the index page

I wanted to replace it with a flash image

I learned Flash and uploaded and it stopped at half draw (only the first 1.5 inches displayed and then it got all scattered)

I decided I hadn't learned enough! and put another animated gif back up

Now, the animated gif too stops at half draw and did the same thing as the swf

I tried uploading the orignal gif and it still won't display

I went back and recreated my images with both formats on a fresh page and same thing.

So I decided to try another host to see to check results - different web, fresh page, but same thing.

I am using Front Page 2000 to create the site
I am using Jasc Animation Shop 3 to create animated gif
I am using Macromedia Flash 4 to create swf

I am not sure where to look for my problem, which app, what signals or errors to look for.

Can you help point me in the correct direction?

thank you
Lili

talk2me if you are using internet explorer, please check that the "show images, play animations" checkboxes are checked in "internet options" ->advance tab->multimedia section.

oops
I figured it out

I had my FTP transfer mode set to ASCII instead of Auto or Binary

I reset it to Automatic ASCII and everything is fine now
