log on security
I would like to know, what are the codes for creating a password security. For example, users should not be able to access the webpage unless the password is correct. if the password is invalid, I would like for a prompt to indicate the message to the user who may be trying to logon. Can you help me with this matter. I would like to know of any java or html codes needed to yield the results denoted. Thank you

Thumbs up reply to LwdSquashman (robwes)
Please forgive me for the this one. It feels as if I should know better. What is apache? Is it a coding software or something like that? If it will help assist my previous question and your reply, the operating system I'm using is windows xp, and I use notepad to design webpages.

Apache is a webserver. I would assume you are using IIS on Windows XP. You can run Apache on Windows XP. I know how to do what you want to do if you were using Apache but I have no clue on IIS.
