well i was reasonably comfortable with VB and I also learnt to do a little programing in Flash as well... so If there are anyprograms close to that that would be great... But truthfully I am not really sure... I just want to be able to write programs... I can learn the language if i need to...

Hi Desolator,

Try this link, and see if it is what you want....

It has an editor, compiler, user manual, tutorial and lots of other goodies that are available and FREE for you to use IF you do not sell software. I'm guessing it'd be a good place to start, and it's from a Virginia university I believe so probably well put together too.

I might try it myself and I'd be interested to hear some other opinions on it - if there are any.

Hey Desolator,

I downloaded it last night and at first glance it looks fairly complete and easy to use. Let me know what you think, after you've used it a bit. Then, I'll know whether to recommend it in the future, or not.

i recommend c#. its a perfect language, the only language to be perfectly object oriented. [java really isnt]. its not that difficult to learn if youre not gonna learn oop, and it is multi-platform compatible, among other things. but it isnt cheap.
