Displaying certian items from a database
This is a complicated question. I am trying to make a program in C that selects only certian items from a predefined database. Basicly, the user will enter a type of item they want to see, and then program will load the database and search for that kind. Once the data is narrowed down, I then display it in a list box with just the name of the item. Then, the user will click on the different items to view the full information on them. This is where the problem occurs. Originally my thought was to have the index of the list box equal the index value of the database array. Then, since I am dealing with only select items from the complete database that wouldn't work. I could just make another instance of the database and copy the select items into it. But, my goal is to have minimal extra memory used for displaying the data. Any ideas would be appreciated.
