Question Image over frame
Hello, people.
I want to make a small (around 200x180) window that I can put somewhere on my site that reloads a website inside it, each time some one visits my site just like Iframe - infact you may even end up recomending Iframe. I also think I frame is the best way to do it, I found a great Iframe generator here.

After the window is made I want to cover the window with an image of the same size, so that people don't see the website underneath, inside the window but the image. How can I do this?

At another forum, they kept asking me why I want to do this etc., please, just tell me how to do it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

FYI, that won't work in Opera.

In Opera, iframe, object, embed and applet are embedded windows and nothing can be displayed over the top of them.

For other browsers use an absolute positioned div with the image inside it and use the css (left and top) to position it over the iframe.

Trusting that you are doing this for good and or learning purposes, here's an example.

But again, that won't work in Opera. If you want examples of hiding frames (not iframes), then just use Gmail and check out the source.

Smile Image
That's, exactly what I want, but can you give me the code the whole thing with an image over it (.jif etc.) enstead of the black thing over it or tell me how I can replace it with an image please. Sorry if I sound dumb but I'm not exprienced in coding. You can place any image over it to show me then just post up the code.

Thank you so much.

Goto the example page. View > source to see the code.

In the hideiframe div, use an image tag to load the image.

<img src="uri to image" alt="alternate text"/>

Then change the width and height for the hideiframe div to the size of the pic. (plus you can get rid of the line-height: 302px line and change the background-color of the hideiframe div to whatever you want.).

Once you get that far, just tweak the settings till it looks right.

I changed the example to use a pic. View source of it again to see what I changed.

Thanks a lot. Can the image or cover be timed to come off by itself?

Check it again and wait about 10 seconds and the cover will come off.

setTimeout("togglediv()",10000);
