Basic HTML .gif > Link
Hi,

I just want to make this .gif a link?

I tried a couple of combinations but don't seem to be putting my <a href="http://mylinkpath.htm></a> in quite the right place. Please, write the link as it should appear with this image source...

<td width="49%" background="themes/eyeball/images/top_background_r1_c7.gif"></td>

Thanks,

Put the image reference in between your anchor tags.
<a href="http://mylinkpath.htm"><img src="themes/eyeball/images/top_background_r1_c7.gif"></a>

Thanks Rockn...

You're Good.

So, I guess it's okay to swap background= for img src= ....and the <td width="49%"></td> tags just enclose all the above...

Hi Rockn...or anyone else in here,

I tried the above with a few different combinations and it is either losing the .gif image altogether (ie: if I keep: background= ) or ( if I put: img src= ) it is adding the link but putting a blue border and the gif image and entire background out of whack...

This is why I'm looking for the correct html for a link as it should appear "with" this type of "background" image source...

Hope to hear back from you.

I gave you the code for an image based link. I am not sure what you are trying to do with the background= thing. Maybe you need to explain what you want to do.

Okay, I think I know what you want to do.

Try this:

<TR><TABLE BORDER="4">
<a title="Optional Title Here" href="http://your link to where ever or whatever.htm">
<img border="0" src="themes/eyeball/images/top_background_r1_c7.gif" width="139" height="106"></a></TD>

Just make sure you tinker with the height and width so they match your .gif...heck, try deleting and see what happens.

Is this what you were looking for?

Hi MBN,

Yep, spot on.

I took out the <TR><TABLE BORDER="4"> and put as follows,

<td width="27%"
background="themes/eyeball/images/top_background_r1_c7.gif">

<a title="Member Area" href="http://www.mysite.com/gallery/memberpage.htm">
<img border="0" src="themes/eyeball/images/top_background_r1_c7.gif" width="65" height="42"></a></td>

<td width="22%"
background="themes/eyeball/images/old_top_background_r1_c7.gif">
</td>

--------------------

This works fine on the main default screen. Unfortunately if I click on a language flag in this php app. the whole thing goes to buggery and if I click on another language flag it just goes to buggery in a whole different way. So, it's either ditch the language options or ditch the skin/theme...I'm thinkin' it'll be the latter.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Yeah, I don't know what it would do in php...this was something I have on my page...I recognized what I thought you were trying to do,

glad to help,

MBN

PS: not sure why you have the same gif in a second <td>, but I'll take your word on it that it works the way you want it to...
