Hey guys, looking for some help for a change.

Im working on a site in php. I need to upload a file and store its path in an sql database. It also stores some other information in other fields. i cant figure out whats wrong. Can someone take a look? Cheers

Oi, feller, I'd imagine this here'n your problem line:

$file_realname = $HTTP_POST_FILES['userfile']['name'];

Made me laugh quite a bit though.

Ya i did that to generate a php error to get the root address...obviously forgot to change it before posting here.

But that aint the problem

Was the following line cut/pasted directly?

"VALUES ('NULL', '$make', '$model', '$colour', '$year', '$engine', '$kilometres', '$transmission', '$price', '$file_realname','".$_POST["descrip"]."', '$details')");

If so, the...10th field name has a superfluous space in it (d escrip should read descrip). Also, I don't know anything about SQL, is REPLACE a valid keyword? Seems like you'd rather have INSERT INTO.

But I don't really know much.

heyo, i removed the if statement and it worked. Im getting the feeling that the version of php on the server im using is out of date.

Repace is a valid statement, and it works the same as insert providing there is at least one entry in the database. Handy for editing pre-inserted fields

Thanks for the tip. Suppose there was a problem with that procedure (is_uploaded_file)? Actually, I'm just guessing at that being a procedure call; it's been years since I even looked at php.

Anyway, glad you got it sorted, thanks for the laugh earlier.
