Looking for a good low cost basic and compiler for windows programs
Been retired for some years.

Made most of my programming career using COBOL, and some Microsoft Visual Basic.

Buying Visual Basic is a bit more than I want to pay just to do some fun type programs.

Anybody have any suggestions for a reasonably priced (one to two hundred bucks) basic programming suite that would let me do some windows xp programming and some sort of cheap data base software.

thanks for your ideas, been out of the business too long to be current

You can get the whole suite of Visual Studio Express for free. Here is the Link for VB.
