Can you guess the windows control I'm looking for?
Hi,

I need to use the Side bar like one on the left when we open "My Computer" in Windows XP or Vista. It shows smart options which are relevant to the type of window currently opened. Like when a directory of media files is viewed it shows options such as "Play All in Windows Media Player" etc.

I want to use such a control/method in my VB.NET app. Can u help me find that control?

Thanks.

I've never seen that packaged as a 3rd party developer accessible control by Microsoft. There are software companies that create specialized controls that may have something close to what you are looking for.

A fairly good resource to search is http://www.componentsource.com

Others here may have other ideas.

Best,
Dan

Thanks Dan, really, http://www.componentsource.com/ is an excellent resource for cool controls. I found
"Developer Express XtraNavBar Suite - .NET Component - 2006 Volume 2
by Developer Express - Enterprise Partner"

Unfortunately, I don't have any financers for this project so I was hoping to get the free version of the similar control.
