Solved: It's a sound switch...
Hi,

I have a headset connected by USB, and speakers connected to the audio jack of the computer, and i want to be able to switch between using one or the other.

Very easy... I know I know... Sounds and audio devices and all that jazz...Great!

But what if it's not my computer...what if it's someone who is computer illiterate, and doesn't know how to use a computer? Is it possible to create to REEEEEEEEEEALLy short bits of code, so that one sets the output of the computer to the speakers, and turns off the mic, and the other sets the sound output to the headset, and the input to the mic on the headset?

The important thing is that both bits of code are on the desktop, so that the user can click on one to activate the headset, and one to activate the speakers.

Anyone can help?

I'm thinking this is a mechanical switch. The headphone grounds the output to the speakers. With two sound cards you might be able to do this. I know DJ's use this feature with thier setups but have no experience on how they configure.

You might try the multimedia thread?

I just thought someone might be able to create a short code for me, in any language, enabling me to click on the file(code) and it auto-changes the sound output.
