Hi i think this cant happen but im asking

can i make it so when on a file is dragged and dropped onto a batch file it is assigned a variable or becomes a variablev and the assigned variable or file is copy to a folder

basically i want a file dragged and dropped onto the batch file to copy to specific folder

When you drag and drop a file onto a batch, the file you have dropped is auto assigned as %1 (variable) and the commands inside the batch are then executed on that file.

For example, drag and drop any file onto this batch and that file will be copied to the folder C:\copies

Just be sure the folder you want to copy into actually exists first. If not, this won't work correctly.

copy %1 C:\copies
