i have problem in acces..

i have one table : my name table is: sort

field
-------
noref

date

now the data in table
5 1/08/2007
5 2/08/2007
5 3/08/2007
4 4/08/2007
4 5/08/2007
3 6/08/2007
2 7/08/2007
2 8/08/2007
1 9/08/2007
1 10/08/2007

my problem is how to creeate query in acces until the result like this

5 3/08/2007
4 5/08/2007
3 6/08/2007
2 8/08/2007
1 10/08/2007

what syntax in sql query?can u help me?

It would help a lot to see the actual data.
But you could try this, create a select query and then click View>Totals.
The totals wizard will make all the columns "Total field" "Group BY".
Change the Date from "Group By" to "Max".

I would advise that you post Access/Excel Questions on the "Business Applications" Forum as you will get more responses there.
