Exclamation Help! Straight answer for audio clips
Hi. I'm still trying to make audio clips for the website I'm building, and I've talked with so many computer people today that I'm confused.

Here's what I need too do: I need to put an audio cd in my cd rom drive, then record clips of each song onto my system.

Two people at Gateway have told me that Windows Sound Recorder won't record directly from the cd drive. One suggested software that will let me add music to photos...I don't have photos; I just need to make audio clips.

One tech at Office Depot said I needed to buy a DVD drive. I already have a DVD drive.

Is there a software program out there that will let me make these clips? PLEASE HELP!

You need a CD grabber application to convert your audio CD tracks to "computer" format. I'd suggest MP3 format, that's very popular. Check this program: http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
This will create MP3 audio files from CD audio tracks.

Windows Sound Recorder is basically an app for recording sounds from your microphone.
You need a DVD drive only if you want to grab music from a DVD. If you have audio CD, you don't need a DVD drive, but you can use that drive as well.
