Your external IP can be retrieved by going to a site such as IPChicken.com or WhatIsMyIP.com
Your internal IP can be found out by going to Start->Run, and typing (without quotes):
'cmd /k ipconfig'

A complicating issue is that some ISPs use an automatic proxy (a kind of middle-man in accessing web pages). Some "IP address" websites give the IP address of the proxy, while better ones detect your own IP address as well. The latter is what you generally need for online games and running web servers etc.

Usually your router gives a good indication of your public IP, but you need to know its username and password, and how to access it.
