Exclamation pricing structure for my Web Design business
Hello all, I am a student web designer, and I went to my first networking meeting last night, and received alot of positive responses as far as gaining clients, BUT Im not completely ready to step into that realm, so I need your help. How much should I charge these people for my services? How much for a standard website? what does a standard website usually consist of? How much should I charge for e-commerce? Video? Audio? Graphics? Images? Please help me guys, I should be receiving calls for work real soon. Thank you

Hey StudentDesigner....have you tried calling around to others in your area to see what THEY charge?? You obviously don't tell them who you are, but that would be the best way to find out. Since you're just starting out, I'd start a little under the lowest prices you find. Have done this several times myself actually....it's called "checking out your competition"!! LOL

Good luck!!

I agree with hottesttotty, have a look at the competitors, and put your price below this by quite a bit but not to much (people sometimes think that if something is cheap the quality won't be up to much. (See University lecturers, I did learn something from the Buyer Behaviour lectures!!!)). When you look around for these competitors, look at as many as you can, not just five, so you can get a true picture of what the 'average' really is. We have unfortuantly had to just contract out some work, and we got some quotes from people from £300 up to £7000 (yes thats right, £7000!!!), so it pays to look around quite a bit!!!

Once potential clients get attracted to the price they'll tell people about you and then you can build up your client base and start charging more.

A little tip is, always communicate well with your potential clients, be as helpful as you possibly can. The more info you give them, the happier they will be with using your services, especially if their paying lots £££.

Hope this helps a bit. Have you got any sites us lot could have a look at?
