Question Help with VB programming
I have Visual Basic 6.0

I am trying to learn how to make games with visual basic. I've read tons of online articles, followed tutorials, read books, and still nothing really explains each piece step by step.

Does anyone know where I could find something/someone to teach me how to make games with visual basic?

I understand how to use Visual Basic itself. I just lack the knowledge of how to turn the controls, modules, etc. into something productive. I'm thinking about going out and buying some books on DirectX. I'm sure they will come in handy.

Right now all I want to be able to do is make a simple game. (Pac-Man, Pong, Tetris, etc.)

But soon I want to make my own RTS (real time strategy game).
I don't know where to start, where to go. Please Help.

hey,
im not the best in VB or anyting but i have a petty good understanding and i dont think u could amke a very good RTS in VB. thats pretty complex, if u wanna do something like that, try learning C++ or something more advanced.

good luck in ur efforts anyway!!

Re: Help with VB Programming
As someone who uses VB in both a professional and a hobby enviroment I can definately tell you that it is NOT the language to write games in. That is not saying you CANNOT write a game in VB but it just isn't the language. VB is an exceptional language for a lot of things. But in a gaming enviroment you need speed. VB simply can't provide enough of that.

I have to agree with the other post here. Try learning C++. It's a little tougher but you can write killer games with it and speed won't be a problem at all...
