Has any one ever heard of the D programming language? How does it compare with C++?

I have never heard of it but a simple Google search found this web site ...

http://d-programming-language.org/

Quote:
D is a systems programming language. Its focus is on combining the power and high performance of C and C++ with the programmer productivity of modern languages like Ruby and Python. Special attention is given to the needs of quality assurance, documentation, management, portability and reliability.

I had heard of 'D' a few years ago but I never heard anything about it or what it was used for.

Peace...

D is the next step in programming languages, but C and C++ are going to remain the most popular languages for the forseeable future. I have no experience with D, but I guess it'll be similar to C++.
