Which version do you have and which version do you have at school?
Anything written in .vb files is just plain text, so you could create a new project at school and copy and paste the code into the old version and modify it to work on old version.

i tried that but the version at school has the design code in the code window while the one i use does not has the design code so i would have to re do the form. i have 2005 express and i need 1998. is there a way to pull the form code on VB 2005 express?

You will need Visual Basic or Visual Studio 6 which unfortunately is not free like Express. You could try EBay to purchase a copy.
