Where should I start if I want to learn C++?
I'm doing an A-Level in IT next year and I want to teach myself how to use C++ for some of my projects that I will have to do. Plus I find how code works really interesting. Is there a starter program or something that could help me out?

http://www.cplusplus.com contains a small tutorial.

Also, search google for "Thinking in C++" - 2 good online ebooks.

A good book I used is:

http://www.acceleratedcpp.com/ (authors' website)

It's a bit different from the standard way to teach it. Sometimes difficult, but it teaches a good core of the language. By the end of it you should "get" C++

It's already been linked to, but I found www.cplusplus.com extremely useful (the tutorial is here). Also I had a few different books including C++ for Dummies and C++ from the beginning, so when I didn't understand something, I could just look it up in another book.
