Solved: ActionScript3 / flash CS3 help please :)
hi everyone,
i have a school project to do, so im getting to grips with flash and what not. and i cant for the life of me figure out how to import a file with actionscript in it to my new flash file. i.e. if i make a game or whatever and it works fine, but it has several layers and bits and bobs happening, so i exported it to a .swf (file >> export >> export movie >> etc) and i dont think i went wrong anywhere there, but when i come to import it into a new flash file all it does is place a still frame of the game without any code or anything into my new file. can flash not do this? or have i missed something?
also am i correct in thinking i can import a movie clip with sound into flash, then save it as a swf, then import it into a new file, thus making it only take up 1 frame?

thanks in advance

If you want to load .Swf into another, then use the code.

Code:
_root.loadMovie("NameOf.Swf");
As for the movie clip question, it would be easier to create a movie clip in the library and import it into that movie clip. This would mean that when you added the movie clip to the stage, the sound would be there to and it would only take up one frame.
