FrontPage 2000: New window size?
Hi all!

I'm building a FrontPage 2000 website to display pictures of a recent vaca trip. I want the pictures to open in a new window when a user clicks on the thumbnail. However, when I preview the site, the new window opens at only half the size of the picture.

How can I force the new window to be big enough for the picture? If I have to force the new window to be maximized, I will, but I prefer to have it just big enough to avoid slider bars.

Thanks,
-tim

You could use javascript to open the new page to just the size that you want it to be.

Try going to http://javascriptsource.com and search for popup windows. There are some that you can set the size of the window on along with whether or not you want scroll bars.

Okay, I found this one: Frameless Pop-up (thanks for the link), but since I only really know basic HTML, I'm a bit confused as to how to incorporate this to work on just the images and not on every hyperlink.

BTW, I am using the graphic editor in FP, not the HTML editor. I do understand how HTML works, so I could manage to drop the tags in where they are needed if someone were able to explain it in a way that I could figure out.

That is, of course, if you can figure out what the heck I'm saying.

Ok, I've got a script that you can use that seems better than the one that you found. I've attached it.

All you need to do is copy and paste the part that is between the head tags into the head section of the page that you want the popup to work on.

And in the link part of the script that goes into the body section, the bold parts that are listed, are the only things that you'll need to change.
a href="http://www.yahoo.com/" onclick="NewWindow(this.href,'name',''400','400','yes');return false;"

the yahoo.com you can change to the location of the picture file, the name you will change to the name of the picture, and the 400,400 you can change to the size of the picture.

Now just put this last part where you want the link to be in the body section and this will open up a new window with the window to the size that you specify.

Wow, thanks!

Seems easy enough! I'll give it a try.
