You would need to remove the electronics first I suspect, not easily done.

The keyboard should disassemble though, and there is likely a reasonable barrier between the upper side and the actual contacts, that would allow a good manual clean.
Certainly I have taken that approach with my MS keyboard.

Take a digital photo of it first - helps in getting the keys back in the right place.

Did your husband survive?

You should have a look at this thread too:
http://forums.techguy.org/t46261

But you probably need a new keyboard -
Just for future refference, never:
1. Drink near keyboard - Or you will get this problem again
2. Eat whilst using a keyboard, In a recent study in Australia, it was found that it is healthier to eat while on the toilet at work, then eat and use a keyboard at the same time. - Ie, more germs on your keyboard then on the toilet!

Late,

Bonersgirl, you didn't say if the keyboard still worked or not. If by some miracle it still worked I would just clean off the keys and not try to open it.

if it was me id wash off the top and reuse it after it dried or i maybe wash it in shower and let it dry for 3 weeks then use it ,maybe thats bad advice

but if it s cordless how could it be dangerous?

ive never believed that fluids or crumbs in a keyboard is a so bad except if its a laptop
