I'll let you go on that one, Crumb, but the one before that I have to take a shot.

GB,

I couldn't resist, and everytime 'anything' like that gets on my monitor's screen I immediately know what NOT to do......

........I'd post all my screwups but it would be lengthy and I don't want to give Mulder any ammo.

btw, I'm just starting to mess around with 'Photo Brush' so you're not alone in your quest to learn about that stuff.

DS---I guess if we didn't screw up know and then we wouldn't be human or as interesting. When we're old and grey (like Mulder is now) we can sit in the old folks home and giggle to ourselves.

Working with these graphics programs is turning out to be fun and challenging. I'm putting together a few things to post on the web site I maintain.

You are wise. Yes, you make a very good point. It can be "Work".
But I have a saying ; If it is difficult, you are doing it wrong. Whenever I start struggling w/ a task, I stop, step back, and THINK!
I invariably come up w/ a better method.

Art should be FUN. If it isn't, you are doing it wrong.

AZ---You are also wise. Can I get you to talk to my kids? I try to explain to them that if they get frustrated with whatever they are doing (homework etc etc) they're lost. You can't accomplish anything once you've become frustrated. You got to step back, reassess, re-think and start again.

Welcome back Deuce. I posted earlier this evening that we could really get going when you finished your finals. We've done alright without you, but missed you. How did the finals go?

GB,

You nailed it. Frustration is my cue. When I realize resistance to my effort, I stop. I step back and I THINK. Then I go w/ the grain instead of against it. (so to speak).

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. Usually I get gifts for clients, which are joke gifts (in the past, I've done a mug that when heated displays a shark, a "pocket attorney", etc.). This year we decided to give the money to the victim's fund instead of buying client gifts. However, not wanting to miss the oppotunity for my annual joke, I baked cookies and handed out the following recipe with them:
