Hello mazam,

these icons are called favicons

Here's a website that should explain it: http://www.favicon.com/
Or here would also be a good start: http://www.misterwebdesign.com/tutorial_favicon.htm

You can get this utility to save your favicons in a separate file and I believe there is a way to create ones for the sites that don't have a custom one.

PCMag.com is free to sign up for and they have all kinds of neat stuff to download.

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,25552,00.asp is for the article on favicons and the download for that utility.

Hello mazam

If you want to assign a custom or different bookmark icon in Explorer, right click on the icon and click properties. Then click on change icon. From there you can choose what's available or browse thru your program files for something better.
