When i first turn on my computer the manufacturers screen appears and it's there for over a minute, is there a way to shorten the time it's there or to get rid of it all together?

as for the logo.....
you mean the makers logo is there instead of the windows 98 logo? | | Senior Member with 235 posts. | | | | my boot up is real fast, it's just the hold up when i turn on the computer - the makers logo stays on the screen longer than it takes for the whole boot up process to complete.

It may be a system check or an anti-virus scan.

But all I can tell is, its not OS related and you've to check your BIOS settings... | | Distinguished Member with 15,988 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2002 Location: Ann Arbor, MI Experience: Advanced | | The screen isnt just sittin there, its doing stuff in the background. My gateway says "Press TAB to view system messages" and it shows the messages instead of that screen. | | Senior Member with 235 posts. | | | | Thanks all,
one more question how do you bring up the Bios screen where you set a password before Windows boots.
