irfanview tip
adding text ( quickly ) to a photo/image

since I have "Irfanview" set up as my default image viewer, adding text to a photo is a snap, with this app. Just open the image.....drag a box where you want to pop the text....and click EDIT ...ADD TEXT....and you're there.

other programs may do it better, but for ease of operation, I like Irfanview.

other often used Irfanview tools....
-sharpen image
-contrast/gamma adjustments
-resize image
-crop image

do your "rough" editing of photos here , then do the fine tuning in your real photo editing program...(Corel...Adobe...etc)

Thx phoneguy!

I have been using Irfanview for some time but never knew this trick.

I've been transferring pic into Paint to add text! Thx again for saving me this time consuming and unnecessary step!

Irfanview
I downloaded Irfanview last week and have been having a ball with it. Finally got all my pictures were I don't have to scroll around to see the whole picture.

I tried your tip on adding text. The only thing is mine came out as wingdings. What would cause this?

IrfanView
Thanks Buck. I had just left it at what it was. Once I changed it I added text to a picture several times and didn't have to change it again. Thanks again.
