I read a post on another forum where it was recommended that people burn their 'My Drivers' folder to a cd - is this basically the same process ?

I am lucky I have both a Win CD and all my drivers discs where I can get at them - but cds are so cheap I still did the above anyway.

Hi Denim....
Both of the driver backup programs posted say they will work with XP.
As for a file backup, XP Pro has one included. Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Backup

You might want to take a look at what MS has to say about backing up to different media, though......

http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q315255

If you have XP Home edition, the backup program is not installed by default. It must be manually installed....

Hope this helps.
