CBSmarie.....
If you are talking about outlook express, open OE, go to tools>options>security tab. Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened". Click apply>ok.

Hope this helps.

CBS.....
I think you mean Defrag. The first thing you want to do is shut down any programs that might be running in the background, such as your antivirus, firewall, etc.
Next, go to start>accessories>system tools>disk defrag. Click on that and it will take you through the process. If you haven't done one before, it may take a while to run, so be patient.

You can use the Task Manager, by hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL at the same time, then ending task on the programs you want to close. I have had better results by restarting in Safe Mode, and running defrag from there. Restart the computer, and hit the F8 key during the boot up, at the menu select Safe Mode. This loads minimal drivers, and your screen will look weird. Once in safe mode then follow the same procedures that MTBird explained (start>accessories>system tools>disk defrag).

Good luck,

p51

ps-to restart the background programs, a simple restart will do.

Smile defrag
Thank you so much for the instructions on defrag. Not sure if I did the shut down right though. My computer went off and I could not do anything.
I had to unplug the computer from the wall plug to get the thing to come back on.
I did get it to defrag
