Unblocking access to attachments in OE
If you receive emails with attachments in Outlook Express and you get a message in the Attach field that OE has removed access to this and that file then check your virus protection settings in OE.

In the main menu bar click: TOOLS > OPTIONS > SECURITY.

Under VIRUS PROTECTION, make sure the box "Do not allow attachmnets to be saved or open that could potentially be a virus" is NOT CHECKED. If it is (and you trust the sender of the file) uncheck it, click apply, close and restart OE and you should be able to view them.

I might be stating the obvious here but it wasn't to me.

Actually, with windows a location reminder for some of the settings is always helpful.
