Have A Problem Using Copy And Paste Commands?
You have a source document or webpage open that you want to copy text from, and you have a blank document open that you want to paste the text to. After highlighting the text in the source document or webpage you click Edit - Copy, then you click Edit - Paste in the blank document, but nothing happens. What do you do now? Instead of clicking Edit - Paste, click Edit - Paste Special, then select the unformatted text option. The text should paste to the blank document this time.

Or you can use the old manual favorite. Highlight what you want to copy, hold down CTRL, then press the c key. Then place your cursor on the area you want to paste to, and hold down CTRL and press the v key. Voila! Copied and Pasted

Hi,

I have a problem with cut and paste though.
I am using winxp home edition and the problem goes like this :

I have a webpage open. i need to copy some contents to word. I select and copy (either ctrl+c or right-click and copy). Now when i open word, i cannot activate the paste button. I have to re-copy and then paste it into word. However, if word is already open (ie before ctrl+c) then there is no problem whatsoever.

I know this msg should go to the other forum, but just b'cause i saw this related post, i have posted my problem here.

Lightbulb WORD clears clipboard Solution
Hello sakamath,

An easy solution to your problem is to start WORD with the default settings in order to bypass the MACRO that is clearing the clipboard on startup. You can type in the RUN box in the start menu the following: winword.exe /a
Or you can create a shortcut to WINWORD.exe in the microsoft office folder and clicking the shortcut's properties and editing the Target field of the shortcut to read

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" /a

it originally reads
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" but the "/a" forces the program to start with the default settings.

The other solutions I had in mind were to disable Macros somehow or deleting the Macro responsible for clearing the clipboard. You can delete macros by clicking Tools->Macro->...The menu that pops up displays the available Macros. If you can delete any, do so if your'e sure of what you're doing and stuff. Another option could be to reinstall WORD, but that just sux.

I hope I helped some.

insomnos-Just to add to what you stated. Use Clipomatic and it will save up to 64 of your last clipboard items and you will have them handy. I don't know how many time I lost things off the clipboard and had to go back and find the place I got them.

PS-You can also make "Quick Sets" of often used numbers or names to have hand ywith a couple of clicks.
