Password Protected File
Hello, I didn't see any threads about this already so I started one.

Ok, I have a Password protected excel file, and I need to get rid of the password.

Does anybody know of any free utilities to do this?

Thanks

I don't think you need a utility. Just go to Tools, Protection and remove it. Or you could resave it using a different file name.

I think I should have mentioned I can't get into the file to begin with. My brother thought it would be cool to play around and password protect my spreadsheet I use to keep track of my MP3's

I was hoping to not have to re catalogue all 1200 of them again

Oh, I see.

I'm sure there are some out there but I don't know of any to recommend.

Perhaps someone else will be able to.

Give your brother $10 to tell you what password he used...

Do a search for "excel password cracker" on Google, you should be able to find several that will solve your problem.
