Thumbs down memory
my memory for my computer is extremly low, and nearly used up. I have had kazaa, but i unistalled that, and the music files that came along with it. Much of my other programs i had for fun, i also uninstalled, the sims and such. Now i am left with the basic stuff, ms works, yahoo, but my computer still runs slowly, and claims that much of the memory is used. Is there anything you know that could make my computer run faster or clean it up, so i am allowed more memory? I don't want to go buy more memory, until i know its 100% needed, i want to fix the problem before pulling a wad of cash out. thank you

What you can do to improve a little bit of performance is to go to start>run and in the box type msconfig, then click on the startup tab. from there you will see all the programs starting up upon system startup. Many of theses aren't nessecary to be on the startup and will drag your system down. Compare those items against this list and uncheck any you don't find as nessecary. remember you aren't deleting them only stopping them from running when not in use therefore creating more free system resources.
