Funny, many of the objections simply aren't true.

I have trouble when I use it when it uses the plug-in and not when I open the pdf file on my own with the reader.

After I close the netscape window and the pdf file that it was showing the program stays open. Have to do a CAD to close it.
Also have to go to the temp folder because it leaves a big file there.
Guess because it did not close down right and clean up after itself.

OK, I'll go one by one and explain why each item is incorrect or a reason why I LIKE PDF files.

PDF's don't support flash
-Why would PDFs support flash? PDF is for printing, you can't print an animation (except in Harry Potter).

Text does not fit the computer screen.
-Guess the author didn't try the zoom in button?

Searching is cumbersome.
-PDF supports bookmarks and chapters, and Acrobat Reader most certainly does have a search function similar to any other programs search.

Common browser commands don't work.
-Duhh, its not a browser. So browser commands don't work.

Crashes and software problems.
-PDFs are just documents, its not possible for a PDF alone to crash a computer.

The reader.
-That would depend on what you compare it to, the size of the PDF, the speed of the server and your internet connection. You can't just say something "takes longer to download". What does it take longer to download than?

The secret location.
-No crap PDFs aren't web pages, they are PDFs. Sounds like the author does not know how to operate a web browser or Acrobat Reader.

Users can't edit or copy text.
-Thats the point of a PDF. Copy protection to stop people from stealing ebooks. And yes, if you have Acrobat you can edit and copy text.

Hyperlinks are useless.
-PDF is designed for printing. A hyperlink is useless when its printed. If you want a hyperlink, make an HTML file.

I see you are the author Cookies, and no offence to you but some of those "Reasons" just aren't true. I also noticed this on your webpage
Quote:
Put a checkmark next to every search and start page listed & choose "fix". Then create a log of what loads at startup via "config/misc/tools/generate startup report".
Also very bad advice there. You have lots of good links but you really ought to get your facts straight.

I'm not certain why you suggest it's bad advice. The utility creates a back up of files that are checked and by default tosses them to the desktop.

If it makes you feel any better I removed the text you objected to and replaced it with a tutorial of how to interpret the logs.

Sheesh. You have lots of good advice; but really ought to get some manners.

Don't worry cookies.........I hate PDF's too. They're cumbersome, slow to load, hard to scroll etc etc. I rarely click on them unless I have to.

Thank you, I know that was rude to comment on your other page here, but that advice really could have messed up someones settings.
