Find Out What's Hiding Behind Those Asterisks
When you enter your passwords on Web sites, you can have Internet Explorer remember them. That makes it easy to return, but you might forget the passwords eventually. What do you do if you need them?
There are a couple nifty little programs that can recover passwords. They are Asterisk Key and Revelation. Just show 'em the asterisks and they'll tell you the password.

Great as long as you don't have a know-it-all son who fancies holding your Hotmail password to ransom...

Thanks franca.
I seen one years ago that you did not even have to install and could keep on a floppy that did the same.
Was scarey as anyone could get your passwords that can get to your PC.

Ms. PC (a.k.a. Computer Security Admin) likes this tool for personal use but suggests it could get you into big time trouble if used for other purposes...
