Change xp start button
First create a restore point in system restore
Download Resource hacker . Install the program and start it. Click on "file " then "open" and loof on the screen for explorer.exe. When found click on it to open it. Next expand string table and expand string # 37 and click on #1033. Where it says start you have to double click on it to highlight it. Then put you personalized name without any spaces. Then click on any other string and you will be asked to save the changes compiled. click yes then exit the program..

Next click on start /run /regedit.
Browse to hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows nt\current version\ winlogon. In the right pane double click on shelland from the popup box type youe personalized name again followed by .exe (again no spaces).Exit the program and log off then on or reboot.

If done correctly you should have a personalized start button to show off. If not done correctly you will boot up to a desktop without a taskbar. lf that should happen ctrl-alt-del to bring up task manager, then file / run and double click on the shell again and change it back to explorer.exe.

Hi. I tried to do what mobo said. However, when I save the file explorer.exe it says that "Cannot create file C:windows\explorer.exe". What am I doing wrong?

You mean the new one that you create ? If so then name it other than explorer and try it.
