Hi, They are Registry "tweaks" or hacks, mostly to try and improve performance- if you use any, make backups, as it explains... some involve modem and Internet performance, or other aspects of several versions of Windows' performance.
You have to be selective...use what you think you NEED, and sparingly, until you have tried things after changes...don't throw in a lot of changes all at once. There are many XP tweak apps out now- most will help you configure XP to your liking and for performance gains. For instance, there are many services running with XP in the default condition that can hinder performance on some systems and that can be turned of, etc.
Axcel has an extensive site with literally hundreds of Windows tweaks- so many they are kind of jumbled and can be confusing to new users.

Thank you...I wouldn't attempt any of these on my own, I thought they may be of some help to those in the know...

Well....that is good. You can get into trouble modifying the Registry. The directions are usually full of warnings to make backups just in case....happy tweaking all.
