Trade IE for IE 6.05 (longhorn) with no pop-ups
Try IE pre 6.05 build 0006 (extracted from longhorn)

http://microsoft-beta.net/iexplore

I did and am very impressed at it's pop-up blocking ability, also it's faster and more stable than it's predecessor..

Note: Extract to a directory and run Iexplore.exe to try it without losing your old version. You must install the runtime that comes with it in order to use it's pop-up stopper.

It may only run on XP and 2000 since it was written for longhorn, the next OS from Microsoft.

Actually I believe I did at first.. You have to turn off any download managers in order to get a good zip file.

MIE 6.05 does not run in Windows 98 or ME.

Since it is still being developed and is updated frequently, I would wait for the final release.
