Problem: I have a rig that's in a modded Chieftec Dragon case, with side window, and Cold Cathode light. The light from the box, which is brighter than my monitor in the dark, had attracted moths to flying around inside it. Looked kinda cool, but I was worried about them laying eggs, so I sprung into action.

Quick Fix: To eradicate them from the box, I took some Raid bug spray, sprayed it into the intake fans in the back of my case, waited for the fumes to clear, then took a pack of mothballs and hid them in the cables where they aren't seen from the outside. The little buggers were still fluttering around, so I sprayed a bit more spray in there. Buggers are now gone.

Moths won't lay eggs inside a computer case as there's nothing there for baby moths to eat, also big moths won't stay in there for the same reasons. Rats on the other hand, they'll eat anything. I'd put a mouse trap in there with some cheese on too just to be safe, and a snap shut bear trap just incase any foxes go in after the rats, then there's the vultures after the mousetrapped rats, so may be an electronic 'hyena bark', going off periodically to keep them at bay, and what about when winter comes, where are the bears gonna hibernate?

You must get a lot of moths there then. The ones that make it into my computer room are sent winging towards the nearest wall 20 times faster than they're able to fly as a result of untimely contact with my table tennis bat. Can't you keep them at bay before they get into the box? Another positive side result is you also end up with a rather fetching sparkly speckled dusty effect on the wall, which in certain conditions can set off and reflect your cold cathode light from the box beautifully. It's almost art!

You wanna keep an eye on the residue those sprays leave behind on all that delicate electricary stuff inside the box by the way.

Do you do a lot of comuting out of doors? Is there a moth infestation in your home? Does Mothra live in the hood? Put some screen material in frot of the intake fan or keep the house screen door closed.

I don't recommend spraying anything into a computer case. Lots of stuff in spray cans is flammable! And other chemicals can corrode electrical connections!

Some of that stuff will melt plastic, and like you said is highly flamible.
