Knock, knock. No, it's not the beginning of a childish joke. It's the sound of a hammer. Even the nicest homes need a little shaping up. The Internet is a great place to turn when you need ideas. It's also a good place for do-it-yourself instructions. So get ready to turn your house into something worthy of Better Homes and Gardens.

BOOB TUBE
Sometimes looking at pictures and directions aren't enough. Watching a home improvement show is a great way to get new ideas. It's also an easy way to visualize a project.

Sometimes the front and back yards could use a change. Consider designing a Japanese tea garden or a French-country backyard.

DIFFERENT ROOMS
You don't have to remodel your entire house. Just one or two redone rooms can make a world of difference.

Use the space given

If your garage has an attic, use it. Even a small area can easily be turned into a guest room.

Any room

Wallpaper gives rooms a texture and feel that paint can't. These are easy projects. Some take less than two hours. You'll also find instructions for a multitude of other projects.

Save money

Sure you might want to add a pool. But you might get a better return on investment with a deck.

Make it balanced

Feng shui is a way of balancing rooms to promote harmony. Here's how one person remodeled with it.

AND FINALLY...

Be careful
