Question Slow modem needs a bit of a kick

My connection runs about 38 to 40. I need to kick it up to at least 47 or so,,might there be any AT commands that would tell the modem to connect at a certian speed? My line speed has worked up to 50 so I think I just have a modem problem. I have updated my Broadxent 56flex driver and updated XP.
Any help or ideas would be great,,,Tks

Hey there thumper289...

My setup is:
Foamer build...
Original slot1 1Ghz Athlon
256MB ram
Conexant SoftK56 modem (Software modem)
Windows ME (ME stands for Mighty Evil)

At one time I was getting a slow hookup as you are now...
Increased the memory from 128 to 256 and now I routinely get a 49333 hit.

In your case though... you seem to have an abundance of memory.
But... XP is a memory hog... I would't touch it.

As you have done just about everything you can do with your current setup...
if you don't have one already...
I'd get a dedicated phone line only for the computer internet.
It makes a world of difference.

I'd just let the tread be.
You could get more interesting info...
And eventually it will float off to infinity.

You can click the report button (thats the little red tri-angle in the top right of each post) and request it to be closed.

I will close this; any new thread should be posted in a more appropriate forum, such as Web and E-mail
