Whoops, I forgot the rest of my post

I meant to say this....."Can you save it as an .ico file in PSP 8?"

I was a tad busy when posting that question and forgot the PSP 8 part

Sorry about that

Yeah, I don't see it in mine either. I just didn't know if there was a patch or extension that would let you do it from inside of PSP or not Oh well, it was worth a try.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, my apologies

Thanks, I won't butt in again kiregar

Thanks for the application and its VERY useful. Thank you once again, but do you have any tips gettin rid of the unneccessary back ground it creates?

Forexample:
If i save a picture Im only saving that lil picture not the whole background. But in the program it creates pink, purple, black, blue, etc... background, that i want clear. Do you have any suggestion?

I have PhotoImpact and I can save images as icons.

Now if you have shortcuts icons on your desktop you can right click on them and go to properties. Click change icon and then click browse. Wehe the box pops up go to the "files of type" dropdown al pick "all types". Now you can pick any .bmp image you have and use it's image to show up on the shortcut icon.
This works only on short icons files and folders and you need to use .bmp images.

Best to make a copy of the shortcut icon or so if you don't like it your have the other one with it's default icon showing. You could also before making change take note of where it is pointing to so if you need to change the icon back to the default one that you will know where to look to find it again.
