Why not try a single click? Goto 'Folder Options' (Optiones Carpeta) and on the 'General Tab' under 'Click items as follows' put the dot (make a bullet) against 'Single-click to open an item (point to select)'.
Done.

It will take a while to stop double clicking to open and single click to select. But it's a good option to know. Interested to know what other O/S may have this option? | | Distinguished Member with 2,261 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Western Canada Experience: Windows Millennium only | | Hello Joe,
Ummm let me think. Win2000. Win98SE. I hope I am correct in those. They are on two of my neighbour's comps. Yes, I feel fairly sure.
Thanks for responding, Joe. | | Senior Member with 245 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Climbin' The Stairway to Heaven Experience: Advanced | | Oh Windows Server 2003 Enterprise supports it, but just having it on for a few seconds confuses me. | | Distinguished Member with 3,486 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: Indian Rocks Beach, FL. | | On Win2k you can go to Folder Options and on the General Tab find Single-Click to open an item [point to select] and place a checkmark next to it.
I've run that way for a couple of years now so I have to remind myself that most other PC's are set up to open things with double click.

My accidental clicks kept opening stuff. I guess I am just a clutz, but it drove me to distraction. I never really gave it a chance. I might have eventually gotten used to it. | | Member with 93 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Space Experience: Untouchable | | used it since 98 came out, great option. at first too, I did start opening things I passed over quickly, but I guess it happed very rarely, cause I'm no clutz just speedy. | THIS THREAD HAS EXPIRED.
