Hello,

For reasons unknown TechGuyForum is carrying questionable advertising.

For reasons unknown no one has seen fit to respond to this thread in the 'Security' forum. http://forums.techguy.org/t265665.html

The advertising (gif below) may be found at intervals throught the Forum and several others clearly from the same source (yet slightly different) are displayed too - again at intervals.

Visitors, and members not yet in the know, are urged to avoid the offer to check the advertised ware. It's pedigree is extremely dubious.

It is to be hoped that curiosity will lead you to check out the above thread-link. Your opinions on this matter may have an influence.

This is the offending and offensive item of product and advertising:

I suspect no one's responsed because you posted it in the "Security" forum not the "Site Comments" which Mike Cermak checks on regularly. The Security forum has thousands of posts and I can easily understand why it may have not been noticed.

Did you email a moderator or Mike about it? Anyway, no need for this to stay open, you have a thread in the Security forum. I'll make Mike aware of it so he can respond if necessary.

As Mike has mentioned on several occasions, he has very little control of the advertising supplied by the companys he has to use, he can request no adverts for adult nature or gambling etc but thats as far as it goes, however, if there are advert that cause problems like the one you have found, and are being displayed on TSG he has asked if you could bring it to the attention of Mike or the mods via PM and he will contact the advertising company and request it to be removed....If indeed it does fall into the catagory for which mike has asked not to be displayed a TSG......If I remember right

Thanks, that would have made alot more sense than what I see was done. I'm closing this and I'll let Mike know about the thread in the Security forum.
