(Solved) URL Shortcut
Hi all: Some time ago I read a post explaining how to post a shortcut to a URL. The URL was hidden behind the word HERE.
I copied the tip, but I cannot get it to work. I am supposed to type the word,'here', select it and then click on the hyperlink.
Where the heck is the hyperlink.
Will somebody explain to me how to do this? Please?
BTW don't let that Senior member thing fool you. I am just a wanna be geek.

Are you trying to do this on a webpage or on a forum like TSG?

Brendandonhu: I would like to use it in forums.

Hewee: I have bookmarked that site and will try to digest it. Must say, it looks complicated.
Thanks guys for your replies.

Well if you click on post reply so your not posting in the Quick reply window your see all the buttons up top. You click on the button and a window pops up that you type in the name you want to us. After you click ok another window pops up that you add the link too. Click ok again and you have you rename link.

Hewee: For some reason, I do not have that icon you posted. In fact, there are no buttons at all up on the top. The only buttons I see are the Post Icons at the bottom of the reply box.

Post Icons
You may choose an icon for your message from the following list:
No icon etc.
There are also: Miscellaneous Options
Attach Files
Thread Subscription
Is the URL copy button available to all posters?

Flags,

Your looking at the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the threads is why. I said you need to click on the "Go Advanced" or the button and you see another reply box that has lots of options.

See the image and I marked in red the link. The one to the left of that is for images. Do a mouse over each and it tell you what each is.
Not showing is Additional Options that is below all this that lets you attach files etc.

Great job hewee..... I used this tip this am to post in the "Review" forum and it works like a charm. I'm putting you on my Christmas Card list.

Edit: I also used it to add links to my signature. YaaaaHooooooooo !

URL Shortcut
Hewee: For the life of me, I cannot see anything like your screenshot, whether I click on POST REPLY or QUICK REPLY>Go Advanced.
Am I missing some setting in TSG forums that is not allowing me to see these things?
Thank you for your patience. This is not critical, but if I can do it, I want to be able to.
Another brick wall to butt my head against.

URL Shortcut
lizard: Just to be sure, I logged off and then logged back in, clicked POST REPLY, and here I am.
No sign of the icons Hewee said should be there.
After I post this. I will go back and click on Quick Reply>Go Advanced, and see what happens, although I've tried it a half a dozen times.
I am baffled, confused, bewildered and possibly bewitched.

Quick reply didn't work either. Fooey!!!

Flags can you take a screen shot of what you see when you are in the reply box? Someone might be able to figure it out then...
