Tweaks??

I am running dsl. Over the past 2 weeks I believe I have tried about every program, (cablenuts was my fav) and registry tweak possible. Everyone made my connection slower?? Seems like my isp is set up to run xp service pack 2 the best at default. Has anyone else ran across this?..........peace......im out
