Question MSN Messenger won't install
Running Win ME. Previously had MSN messenger which my teens used, but they haven't been able to get on recently. Tried to update but got a message, so uninstaled then get error "Could not open key UNKknown/INSTALLER/Assemblies/Global
Verify sufficient you have sufficient access in that key or contact support personnel" then tells me it can't download "msn set up failed with error code 1603 - download from MSN website" - which is where i was!

Iwas recommended to "disable" any adaware - couldn't see how to disable so I uninstalled "adaware", then tried to reinstall msn from their website - but still getting same message.

Any ideas , i have spybot, avg, adaware, zone alarm, spyblaster but no norton.

thanks in anticipation

you do not say what version you are trying to install.

version msn messenger 6.1 was buggy. msn came out with the fix here.

if for some reason that does not work. try msn messenger 7 (beta) i have used it for a couple of months with no problems.
