Startup programs you don't need.
Here's a neat program that I'm going to add to my Top Ten 2004 Questions and Answers about Windows XP at: http://upstatecomputerservices.com/custom2.html #1 Windows XP is very slow on start-up or boot-up. Being of a curious ilk, I've tested this program and it will help you control your startup programs with an easier-to-use interface, that gives you more information about each program that is in your startup list.

Starter is a real Freeware and is not crippled in any way among the similar products. The user interface is pretty simple and has a lot of options that are self-explanatory. To learn more about Starter and to download it if you like, visit: http://members.lycos.co.uk/codestuff...s_starter.html

Thanks for the info.

Startup Mechanic is a good one, too, and categorizes startups by threat level. Not much use to advanced users, though.
